OUR STRENGTH IS OUR MEMBERS

 

               A friendly place where people coping with persistent mental illness can join in and be a part of our Clubhouse Community Programs.  We offer Social & Recreational programs including In-House Education.

 

               Our clubhouse is a place where people can form new friendships and gain self esteem by helping with the following groups and activities:

 

Running the Clubhouse Activities

 

Newsletter Group

Monthly Publication for all Members by Members.

Gardening Group

The Club House herb, vegetable garden, and yard work .

Baking Group

We have a great kitchen to cook up a storm!

Janitorial Work

Members contribute a little cleaning each day!

Computer Facilitators

The computer lab geniuses  at work with other members!

Fundraising Team

This all takes money, and we search that out too.

Outreach Team

Calling members at home to see that they are well?

In House Snack Shop

Keep it stocked, and collect coins for more snacks.

Shopping and Food Preparation

Getting food in the fridge and freezer for the cooking team.

Clubhouse Maintenance

Keeping the Clubhouse in order with minor repairs.

Secretarial Work

Events need to be scheduled, booked, and promoted.

Record Keeping

We account for every cent we spend.

Cooking Team

Cooking meals with a staff member for lunch and dinner.

Self Help Group

Working together to help ourselves through difficulties.

Van Outings in the Van

Getting out and doing things like Kayaking

Bowling Nights

Group event which is a lot of fun.

Swimming

A drive and getting a wet before dinner.

Coffee House Night

Check out another coffee spot in Burnaby.

Movie Night

We need the Van to pick up the movies for the big screen TV.

Crafts / Cultural Night

Checking out local events.

Camping

We have several great camping trips each year.

Leisure and Running Group

Drive out to Stanley Park and walk the seawall.

Sports Teams

Getting to sports events, and putting together our teams.

Music Lessons

Volunteers come by to show us a thing or two!

Yoga Instruction

Meditation and relaxation in the park.

Badminton

Great sport for the outdoors.

Food for the Soul Speakers

We check out various events because we have wheels.

Learning how to live with our situation.
